I was also an asylum – seeker !

I was afraid of losing my life; therefore, I saught asylum abroad. I saught asylum, because everyday and every moment of my life was tantamount to repression and arrest. I did not escape for the sake of earning my living; that is why I am called a political refugee. I no longer wanted to be arrested again, put in solitary confinement and be tortured. I have lost all my belongings in Iran and has gone with my family to Wan in Turkey where many asylum – seekers are living a miserable life, waiting for many years to be recognized as a political refugee and to be sent to a third country.

As a result of the earthquake in Wan, we have been forced to go to cities where we can neither live securely nor can even gain something to full our stomachs.

The earthquake – ridden asylum- seekers in Wan appeal to all human rights organisations and humanitarian associations to help them as well as protesting against the human rights office in Turkey for not caring about the horrible situation of the asylum – seekers in Turkey.

We, political activists, artists and writers, protest against the Turkish government for not paying attention to the miserable situation of the asylum seekers in Turkey
